Beauty | Everyday Make-Up (Updated Five Minute Face!)

Brushes Pictured are a set from eBay - Post Here

Hi Lovelies, it's been a while since I did one of these posts, the reason purely being because most days my morning routine has ended at moisturiser. If you read my last five minute face, or some of my previous posts, you will know that I work in a less than glamorous Architects Firm in the small town of Sale. Lets just say it doesn't permit a Gossip Girl style look and leave it at that.

Anyhuuu, over the past few weeks I have been using a little selection of products to make myself look a little more... alive, so here's a brief over view of my Monday to Friday Five Minute Face.

I always prep my face with a Burt's Bees Cleanser and my La Roche Posay Serozinc Spray (more on them here) before using the Acne Ultra Clear Natural Moisturiser (post here) and then diving in. I'm guilty of sometimes neglecting primer... naughty me, but on the days that I wear foundation I like to use the Nivea Post Shave Balm to keep it all in place.

I then go straight in with the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, applying with a damp Beauty Blender to ensure a flawless application. I LOVE this foundation for a medium coverage base during the week. With a host of fruity ingredients such as Apricot and Melon not only does this smell great, but it leaves a radiant finish, that lasts even on my oily skin and is just enough coverage to hide any redness and even out my complexion.  To cover any under eye circles or blemishes I use the La Girl Pro Conceal. I have this in in the shade Porcelain which is super pale but works great for me. This is because I like my concealer to also act as a subtle highlight for under my eyes. I love the squeezey tube packaging which makes application quick and easy. I apply this in triangles under my eyes going down the sides of my nose, and on my t-zone to brighten those areas, and of course to any pesky blemishes that I might have. The coverage and longevity of this concealer is really great for the price and it blends easily with a Beauty Blender.

I set my concealer in place with a quick sweep of the Rimmel Lasting Finish Powder in a shade that I no longer know, but I use this sparingly. I like my make-up to look radiant and glowy and find that techniques such as 'baking' (using a loose powder to set your concealer) accentuates any dry patches which I hate, even though it seems to work and look great on others. Powder is therefore a quick sweep across my t-zone and then popped in my bag for any touch ups during the day.

Next I like to bronze up my face a little. I completely forgot to photograph my Soleil Tan De Chanel  which is so great for subtle bronzing as opposed to full on contour. So on the days when I'm in a lil rush that is what I reach for. However a more recent purchase and also a great subtle option is the Bourjois Bronzing Powder. I apply this again sparing to my cheek bones and forehead just to add a little sun kissed glow to my face. It's the perfect shimmery gold shade and does the job without breaking the bank also.

Once I'm all bronzed up I go in with some blusher. I use the L'Oreal True Match Blush in Nectarine. Contrary to it's name, it is actually quite a bright pink shade. It scared me a little when I first bought it, however if used with a delicate hand it adds the perfect feminine pop to the apples of my cheeks.

I purposely left out Mascara, but if you want to know I like the Maybelline Lash Sensational (who doesn't), however the luxury of being able to rub my tired eyes at 2pm when I'm due a coffee is too good to miss out on, so I go straight to brows. The Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pen is a long standing favourite of mine for everyday natural brows (at the weekend I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow). The S&G is double ended with a felt tip and crayon making defining the brows and filling them in so easy! The only downfall is that I find the felt tip end dries up pretty quickly but the crayon does the job on its own most of the time anyway!

Finally, and this is probably one of my favourite products ever. The Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. I am so so so so obsessed with not having dry lips. It's a huge pet hate of mine, so this is the perfect product for me. I use this once make-up application is done, scrubbing off any dead skin and make-up  that's left behind, this preps my lips for a little vaseline and I'm done!

Do you use any of these products?
