My Favourite Shops

I am a complete and utter shopaholic and it has 100% got to the stage where I cannot scream the old phrase 'I haven't got anything to wear!' at Ryan anymore. I can just sense my bank card wincing from the minute I get paid as I convince myself I neeeed this top that is pretty much exactly the same as the one I bought last week okay?! However a gal can never have too many clothes or shoes so I wanted to talk this week about my favourite shops at the minute.

 Rad
You will have seen these adorable jumpers everywhere at the minute and here is no exception! I looove Rad! As previously stated I love jumpers so even though I have allllll these pretty clothes I still, when the weekend rolls around reach for a jumper and my comfy jeans. Rad have the cutest jumpers and tee's that you wouldn't find anywhere else, and they always have some sort of sale going on!

Boohoo
Missguided was always up there for me and I still love them too, but as their prices climb I've found myself browsing on Boohoo more. I am so so guilty of buying a new dress every single time I go out and only wearing it once so I know that to spend a lot of money on one would be ridiculous! Boohoo is my go to website for going out attire! Always! So lovely and so reasonably priced!

New Look
As I work and live in the 'lovely' (I recently read a post that described it as a black hole of despair, ouch burn) town of Sale the only shop we have that I would shop in is New Look. I find myself wanting to get out of the office everyday and like a magnet I end up in New Look or Boots before I even know it. It's grown on me massively and I've realised that a lot of my work wardrobe (smart casual) is from there. They have some lovely bits and bobs that are perfect for everyday and for the office and of course reasonably priced.

Payday Wishlist

Pay day is within my grasp and January has been oh so very depressing and I am oh so very skint. We all know how it goes in life, we want what we can't have/afford. So I have a big ol wishlist and about 50 websites with extensive 'saved items' lists that are just waiting to make me poor as anything again in February. I wouldn't be a legit blogger if I wasn't a shopaholic though right? Here's just a little snippet of my wishlist:

I've never been a hugeee blusher lover, purely because I usually just forget and kind of disregard them, I'm all about bronzer, however... HOW ADORABLE. Too Faced need to stop with all this cute packaging because they have me needing (yes NEEDING) all of their products.

Unlike everyone in the world right now, I'm not completely in love with matte lipsticks. I mean I love them, but I love the old glossy multi-dimensional finish more and these Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are to die for.

I can't wait for it to get a little warmer so that I can launch my winter coat back into the wardrobe and throw on something a little lighter. I'm obsessed with these camouflage jackets at the minute, especially this Topshop one.

ALL OF YOU BLOGGERS NEED TO STOP. I was already bad at perfume and candle hoarding and now you all made me go and have a little curious sniff around the Jo Malone counter in Selfridges. Unreal. and so is the price tag, double wah.

I want it all. There is nothing that motivates me more than new gym wear, and it's so prettttttyyyy.

Nothing beats a weekly pamper with a face mask and I have heard so many amazing things about the Glam Glow Muds, I want them all but I've featured the Thirsty Mud here as it's winter and the weather is making my face a lil dry in areas so this would be perfect.

I looove the seasonal lines at Lush, Valentines being probably my fave. How cute is this!? And it smells so delicious.

Boot season is not over yet and I am after some plain black ankle boots and these ones are just perfect!

What will you be buying this payday?

Lash Sensational

I want to start this post off with talking about how annoyed I am that I did not try this sooner. This has been appearing everywhere over the last few months, I may have even had a few dreams about it seen as every time I went onto Bloglovin there was an array of glowing reviews about this bargain beaut; and still I read them, commented the usual 'need to try this!!' and STILL went to boots and DID NOT TRY THIS. Idiot. Even more of an idiot for buying brown when I did actually bloody buy this. It's January I can let myself off I think.

Anyway it is now in my possession and I am so glad that it finally is, despite being brown (you can't notice really as it's a fairly dark brown) I absolutely looooove it! I don't have the thickest eyelashes and I don't have massive issues with them but this makes such a difference. I curl my lashes prior to using this and it lengthens and thickens creating layers and layers of lashes, making it definitely better than any mascara I have ever used. The brush makes application so easy for top and bottom lashes and I can't actually fault it apart from being brown.

You can buy this for around £7.99 from here.

Have you tried this mascara yet?

The Dungaree Dress

I bought this in summer and when winter came around I pretty much tossed it to the back of the wardrobe with the rest of my summer clothes. I was mistaken as this lil beaut is all season item.Teamed with a little jumper, turtleneck or whatever you fancy and some tights, I really like it. As I bought this a while ago I can no longer find it on the internet, but here's some similar and lovely ones you can get instead.

January Juicing with Philips and the Real Juice Reboot

So we all sat around the TV at Christmas eating an endless amount of Quality Street and dreading the point where it was no longer acceptable; and when were going to have to spend hours at the gym burning all those green triangles off again. January. Back to the Gym, Chocolates in the bin, no more pigs in blankets. WAH.

However one day in December I was contacted about getting involved with the Real Juice Reboot with Philips who have teamed up with The Body Coach, Joe Wicks in January and trying out one of their juicers. Being an avid smoothie drinker already, I obvs did a little happy dance and of course said I would love to.  So I think it was around January 7th, I woke up to the post man delivering my Philips Juicer (this one to be precise) along with some recipes to get me started.  My Favourite of them all which I have been having a lot all has been:

Cool as a Cucumber (Pictured Above)

1 Cucumber
1 Apple
5 Mint Leaves
1/2 a Lime

This kind of reminds me of a very healthy Mojito.  Healthy But DELICIOUS and so refreshing! If you're new to juices or smoothies and a little apprehensive this is a great one to start with, even I was a little scared when I started to add the likes of Beetroot and Carrots in (still absolutely delicious btw).

I am well and truly converted from Smoothies to Juices and this Juicer is just amazing.  I can literally toss a whole apple in and it comes out completely smooth in texture (if you're like me and hate 'bits' in drinks or thick smoothies then you NEED this). What is so great about this Philips Juicer is that it is so easy to clean, it can easily be taken apart into sections and rinsed, so I can prepare my juices before work and still have time to get it spotless again and ready for the next morning. The only downside to Juicing  in comparison with Smoothies is that from an awful lot of fruit you don't get a lot of juice so it can be a little pricey!
This is 100% going to stay in my everyday routine though, as I feel that when I start off right it really sets a precedent for how my day is going to go, what I eat, if I have the motivation to then exercise etc and it is a great and fast way to get all of the goodness out of your fruit and veg in one blast (I do still try to eat more fruit and veg throughout the day).  I feel less bloated and full of energy; and the sluggish feeling that was left from Christmas has well and truly been banished! If you don't already, make sure to follow me on Instagram where I post a lot of the juices I have and what goes into them! And more importantly if you can, get buying a juicer, this one is sitting looking pretty in my kitchen and will definitely not be moving! Thanks Philips!

I've decided that I am going to try and incorporate a few more healthy lifestyle posts onto my blog as for the last year or so I've really changed my lifestyle and share a lot of tips with my friends, boyfriend and colleagues who have now changed theirs too, so why not share them here right?! One thing I'll try to do is share lots of yummy smoothie and juice recipes.

Do you have a juicer or blender? What are your favourite recipes?

My Favourite Scents of 2016

Prior to this year I've been very much a nice perfume for events, body spray for every day (Victoria Secret to be precise they are my faves and I think I have about 90 oops). I still am a little that way, but my perfume collection has grown significantly so now I don't feel as guilty using perfume for a nip to Tesco if I so desire. I have this huge obsession with smelling good, and I don't mean like not smelling bad, no one want's to smell bad now do they (well I would bloody hope so anyway) I just mean I like a fragrance that lasts and makes people who I waltz past stop and want to ask me what perfume I'm wearing, you know what I mean? Let me just say before I go on about perfumes that Victoria Secret body sprays really are good for this and paired with their matching body lotions they pack a right punch. My favourite is Coconut Passion and we are so lucky in Manchester to have a store in the Trafford Centre so they are so easily accessible without having to have them shipped from the website.

Anywhoooo enough rambling, I've been pushing Victorias Secret to the side (sorry Vicks) and replacing them with the above beauties recently and the first is Paco Rabanne Olympea. The bottle first off is lovely, Greek Goddess themed with touches of Rose Gold (WE ALL LOVE ROSE GOLD C'MON). I find this so fresh and perfect for everyday, it has 3 different layers starting off with Green Mandarin, Ginger Lily and Jasmine then moving on to 'Salty' Vanilla and finally Cashmere Wood - Ambergris. The scent is so feminine and fruity with vanilla undertones. This has been my go to daily scent however I do have to spray it again every now and again throughout the day but I have no problem with that and I think I probably just get used to it!

The next was a duty free purchase on my way to Dublin for New Year, Marc Jacobs Decadence  a little more pricey, but I mean come on?! Look at the bottle! Apart from being very heavy (if I take it out with me I have to leave the lid at home because that shit weighs a ton) it's so sassy and different you can't not love a handbag shaped perfume bottle. This fragrance has this gorgeous, sensual (cringe) and deep woody scent which seriously lasts and smells so different than any perfume I've ever owned. It has notes of Italian Plum, Bulgarian Rose and Liquid Amber which is seriously so good. I can smell this bad boy on me for hours. Perfect night out scent!

Mini Lush Haul

So as we all did on Boxing Day I refreshed and refreshed and refreshed the Lush website until my hair was falling out and I'd nearly smashed my laptop up and thrown it in with the Christmas rubbish in the shed, until finally, here we are having managed to order a few lil bits. I didn't go completely mad as I was going to Dublin a few days later and had already found out via google that there were two Lush Stores right by my hotel, because well you know priorities and all that. Howeverrrrr one simply cannot pass up a sale now can we so I joined the queue for some bargains.

Along with Godiva which I spoke about in my last post (read here) I picked up these three cuties, starting with a repurchase of one of my favourites SnowCake which I can no longer locate on the website SOB. As always with me, let me start by just saying this smells delightful, like Marzipan and I just adore it. I never usually used Soap until Lush as I found that they left my skin feeling dry and tight, but this one leaves it soft and delicately scented.  The next was the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb which I again cannot bloody find on the website, but however even though I liked it and was very surprised given it's white and gold colour that it turned my bath bright blue and glittery, I would't repurchase as I wasn't overly keen on it's citrus like smell, but I am glad that I gave it a go! Finally I got the Rub Rub Rub Body Scrub Bar which I can find still! yars. As I am a girl who loves her fake tan, I also love my body scrubs because patchy and streaky 4 day old tan is a no no. You can use this as normal in the shower, or before the shower, which is how I have been using it! I just wet it a little and rub it over my skin gently (you don't want to take your skin completely off) then rinse off. It smells lovely and does a great job at exfoliating!

Lush Hair

If you've read some of my previous posts you will know that I LOVE Lush hair products. The romance all started a few months ago with the 'New' Solid Shampoo Bar - read my post here, and it's spiralled out of control into a full on love affair really, I'm sure people have more of a collection but mine will definitely continue to grow this year, I'm sure of that.

Jason and the Argan Oil  - The first thing I have to mention about this Solid Shampoo (as it's the reason I bought it) is the scent, described as Rose-Jam scented and it is just heavenly, so sweet and lovely that I can't put the bloody thing down! Enriched with Argan Oil this leaves me hair so soft, shiny and conditioned and smelling delightful (and its PINK!) cuteness.

Godiva  - This is packed with some lovely oils such as Camellia, Coconut (if you didn't already know coconut oil is the answer to everything, I can imagine even bullet wounds) and Macadamia Oil along with Cocoa and Shea Butter and a couple of other hair treats. This cleans and conditions and leaves the hair lovely and soft, however it has a strong scent of jasmine which isn't my absolute favourite, but it's not awful just personal taste so I can get over it! Remembering that these shampoo bars can last 60-80 washes btw... ahhmazing.

American Cream - Do I even need to go on? The smell alone is just incredible, described as Strawberries and Cream and it just lasts and lasts. With Vitamin C rich ingredients such as Strawberries and Orange Juice that add a glossy shine and Lavender for your scalp not only does it smell good it does good, leaving my hair feeling tip top. I'm forever trying to hunt on the website for the Lush Fragrance of this pls pls pls.

Veganese  - I picked up a small bottle of this whilst I was in Dublin as I didn't want to pack my American Cream (que Friends Shampoo Explosion episode) but it's one that I will definitely repurchase. I do try to switch up my hair care products when I can, alternating each wash and this is a perfect partner for Jason and the Argan Oil and co-insides fabulously with American Cream as it's a lightweight formula. Seaweed softens the hair and Rosemary soothes the scalp.

Do you use any Lush Hair Products?

Everyday Five Minute Face

I'm an office girl, have been for the past few years after leaving the chaos that was my first job at TGI Friday's, I work at an Architects as a Secretary/Audio Typist and a PA when the boss is having a super busy week and needs me. Now when I say an Architects, don't picture this big glass building in the centre of town with all glass walls and glossy desks. No no, this is a somewhat smaller (WAYYYY smaller) little practice in ma hometown Sale. No glossy job means I don't require a made up face everyday, however I still need to look presentable for clients, so I make a little effort.

Here are the products I use to get my face ready for the day! I wash my face with the Soap and Glory Daily Youth Foamy Moisture Face Wash then begin to prep with the Pixi Glow Tonic followed by the L'oreal Extraordinary Rebalancing Facial Oil and a moisturiser some days but not most.

I then go in with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, making triangle shapes under my eyes then applying to my T-zone and any blemishes. I blend this with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge which I spray with my Pixi Make-up Fixing Mist before hand to make sure it all blends in nicely.

I then bronze my face up a bit using the Soleil Tan De Chanel and a Kabuki Brush applying to places where the sun would catch (cheek bones, temples, forehead and nose etc) then in the same areas I contour using the Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Ibiza which really makes them stand out, blending with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

I then highlight using the Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick I usually always use the Benefit Watts Up stick but have recently bought the Shimmer Brick and I've been enjoying it! For brows I use the Soap and Glory Archery  brow pen blending with an eyebrow brush of course, I love this for natural day to day brows because of the felt tip like applicator. For eyes I go in with some eyelash curlers from Boots and Clinique High Impact Mascara (this is just a sample size) which I loooovee so far, it leaves my lashes thick and with lots of volume. Finally finishing off with Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, how could I live without this!! I use it to take any make-up off my lips which I just hate, I then add a little tint with my Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Watermelon which adds a nice tint and shine. I seal the deal with a little spritz of my Pixi Make-up Fixing Mist and off I go!

What are your go to everyday products?

This Months Non-Beauty Fave

I'm trying to incorporate more things into my blog than just beauty not loads but maybe just the occasional dabble in something else, my wardrobe isn't straight off London Fashion Week catwalks, but it's growing and getting a little more adventurous (for me) so some occasional clothes posts seem like a good idea (if that's okay). As i've said so many times before I'm a jeans and jumper gal, so when I saw this on Moda Minx instagram for £26.99 I couldn't resist.

I can imagine this in all seasons (think cool summer nights with some denim shorts) and I just love the strap detail. It's something that's just a little different compared to the other jumpers I own and I'd never really seen one like it. I paired this with dark blue jeans and my knee highs (OBVS) and my trusty grey waterfall coat from Boohoo and then strutted around being the ultimate awkward turtle taking these photos (I am selfie queen but cringe so much when other people take photos of me).

Tanning: I NEED all three okay!?

I'd love to be one of those girls that suits being pale, all red lips and winged eyeliner. But I'm not. So this winter weather is a giant pain in the arse, I NEED A TAN ALWAYS OKAY? St Tropez has always been my favourite from the Gradual In Shower Tan to the Darkest Bronzing Spray but the past few months I've gone all courageous and brave and ventured out into other realms of bronzed godessness (that's clearly not a word in the dictionary but whatevs). Here are my fave three self tanners and why I need all of them!

The Everyday One
St Tropez Gradual Tan Medium/Dark £14.50 - a long time favourite of mine, I also like the in shower tan, however you must be mad if you think I'm going to stand stark naked and wet and wait for three whole minutes in the winter before rinsing it off. I think not. Sooo the ol' trustworthy Gradual Tan is ma fave. I use this for an everyday glow, so during the week if I get time I apply this before bed. I apply this with a tan mitt as I do with every tan as you just do not want streaky/dark hands. It just adds a little colour back into my skin without someone asking 'going out are we?' when I show up to work like a wotsit. It's infused with Aloe Vera so leaves your skin lovely and soft without that fake tan smell!

The Perfect Night Out One
Xen Tan Dark Lotion £29.00 - The clue is in the name, but also in the price. This is not one for everyday use. It's my favourite for events and nights out. Lotion Tans are by far my favourite as I feel that they just go on so much smoother and without effort. It contains Rich Nut Oils so leaves your skin so soft and omg the scent. Described as Cherry and Almonds, it's divine. Tanned and smelling like a cherry bakewell. I put this on either the night before or two nights before I'm going out and the next morning I have a lovely dark tan that is streak free and lasts a good few days before going a bit funny.

The Fast Natural Glow One
Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse £7.99 - This is new to my tanning collection and at first I wasn't really too impressed as I like my tan dark, and I bought this thinking it would be similar to the likes of the St Tropez Mousse. However now I've given this tan its own little category, it sits nicely in between the two above as what I can only describe as a fast gradual tan. Does that make sense? Some of you may disagree with me as you might like a nice light tan all the time, but if your like me who wants to look like just been in Jamaica for a month when you go out then it doesn't quite rival Xen Tan. I like this one for say a Friday Date Night (specific huh) when I don't want to be looking like I've had a spray tan for quiet drinks in Knutsford, I can imagine liking this for day events in the summer. I follow the instructions and you can leave this on for between 1-3 hours depending on how dark you want it. I leave it three and for me that's just a nice bit of colour, nothing too major. I have yet to leave this one overnight to see if it's gets any darker. It's a nice colour with no orange undertones though!

Nars Sheer Glow: My New Favourite Base

I finally have my paws on it!! I have left many a comment under fellow bloggers posts on this beauty, most along the lines of 'I NEED this', I really did, so here it is. Nars Sheer Glow - a £31 glass bottle of flawlessness in the shade Mont Blanc. I'm a very big fan and religiously use Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, Chanel Perfection Lumiere (occasionally Mac Studio Fix if I really want to pack it on) but I feel like these are a great trio, as they are great for different reasons. Nars holds number one place for of course making your skin look so healthy and bright, I wore this for the first time on New Year and it sat beautifully on my combination skin all night; with the help of the ol' trustworthy primer the Post Shave Balm.

I'm no longer a fan of feeling like i'm wearing a lot of make-up and this is so light, but still buildable so it lets my skin still feel like it can breathe, but still like 'hey I made a bit of extra effort today y'know and i'm feeling faaaaabulous'. I apply this with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or if I want a little more coverage I go for the Beauty Blender. It makes my skin look radiant without effort so it is a purchase I am very happy with. It's designed for normal to dry skin types, which I do not have but I have heard lots of people with oily/combination skin, like mine still loving this, but I suppose it's something you just have to throw caution to the wind with (not that it's that serious but for £31, caution is required) and try.

What are your fave foundations?
